RAJA YOGAS IN VEDIC ASTROLOGY.

Sula Yoga Part--107 (May—4--2009) Part--A Rule :-- If all the seven planets occupy (except Rahu and Ketu) occupy three houses, Sula yoga is formed. Sula has three pointed spikes (fingers) pointing upwards. Benefits :-- The person may be devoid of wealth; courageous and cruel. He may have marks of wounds sustained in battles. My explanation :-- These effects are general. The applicability of these aspects depend on the other raja-yogas present on the individual horoscope. Example: 1 This is the horoscope of a Commander in Air-force. Some of the results of Sula yoga were found in this person. But he was neither poor nor cruel.

She has Sula yoga. (1) Sun and Mercury are in Gemini; (2) M0on, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn in Leo; (3) Venus is in Taurus in his own house in Bhagya (gortune and luck) stahana (9^th house). But the other raja-yogas are so very strong that the mal-effects due to Sula yoga are not at all found. They are outlined. Sula yoga is present in her chart. She is a mutlti-billionaire; she is not cruel or harmful.

1) Budha-Aditya raja-yogam: Mercury and Sun are conjunct in 10^th house (Sri Narayana sthaanam). Ravi, Soumya yuthau thathra sva, utcha sthaana gathe Budha-Aditya yogamutchyathe; vishesha dhana laabhanche, vanijya-vardhanam. Sun and Mercury conjunction is strong Budha-Adithya yoga; this makes her gain financially during periods of Sun and Mercury. Sbe will earn millions of dollars. Business is very profitable to her; so she wisely chose interior design and fashion as her profession and she gians millions of dollars. Mercury is also conjunct with the Sun, a royal planet; but not very clos; so Sun does not combust (dagdha yoga; burn up) Mercury. The Sun gains directional strength or 'Dik Bala' in the 10th house, this further enhances benefits like her status, recognition, leadership, domination and grand success in her career.
The Sun is the lord of 12^th house and is in the 10^th house; this indicates a number of good things - success in foreign countries, or a career that changes frequently, or goes in spurts. For Venus Williams, it appears to be a good combination of all these. It can also signify working for ones own-self because of the need for a flexible, independent work schedule. She's recently started her own fashion and interior design company.

2) Bhadra Maha-purusha yoga : Mercury is te lord of her birth lagna, Virgo. Mercury is in his own house in Gemini in 10^th house (Rajya; profession; quadrant; Sri Naryana sthana). So Mercury gives her the most powerful orientation and rise in profession and lifts her to lofty heights of achievement. The attributes of this yoga are described in classical Sanskrit works of Maharshi Parasara as : "The person is physically very strong and healthy, with long arms, commanding stature, a gait with the majesty of an elephant, face like a lion, broad chest and shoulders, and proportionate limbs. Mercury is also in Vargottama-amsa, meaning it stays in Gemini in the Navamsha chart (9th divisional chart), which further strengthens Mercury and its beneficial nature. Benefits :-- The person earns his livelihood from agriculture; he is helpful to others. He leads a happy and prosperous life and enjoys all royal comforts. My explanation :-- The great astrologer-writer Maharajha Kalyana Varma (king of Vyaghrpada state) in present Madhya Pradesh (he belonged to 10^th century A.C) wrote in his monumental astrological text SARAVALI, that a person born under this Kedara yoga possesses the bull-intellect and poor comprehensive power. Pasa (Pancha-anana) Yoga Part--105 (May—02--2009) Rule :-- If all the 7 planets (except Rahu and Ketu) are in 5 houses in the birth chart, it is called Panch-anana (Pasa yoga) Yoga. Benefits :-- The person enjoys happiness, health, wealth, and high-stature all his life. These three children are born as millionaires in the same rich family. They are born with golden-spoons in their mouths. They lead the life of a Prince/Princess from his/her infancy. Examples are given in the following charts. Saint-astrologer Parasara says : YADI BHAVATHI GRAHA-INDRAAHA, PANCHA RAASAU YUKTHAHA, AUBHA SUBHAYUTHO, VAA, NEECHA, SATHRU GRAHE VAA, ASUBHAM AKHILAM VINASAM, NAASA KEMADRUMAADI SA; BHAVATHI NRUPATHULYO, YOGAM PANCHA-ANANOYAM = If all the nine planets stay in 5 houses (raasis), all the malefic effects in the horoscope are removed completely; malefic effects like union with malefic planets, stay in malefic houses, stay in inimical houses or ava-yogams like Kemadruma and such bad yogams are removed. This horoscope (Ex—1) has the aspect of Jupiter on 10^th house and is very beneficial.

The lord of 10^th house (Cancer) is Moon and is conjunct with Venus; this is beneficial.
My explanation :-- The great astrologer-writer Maharajha Kalyana Varma (king of Vyaghrpada state) in present Madhya Pradesh (he belonged to 10^th century A.C) wrote in his monumental astrological text SARAVALI, that a person born under this Pasa yoga may suffer from incarcenation (imprisonment). This statement shoud not be taken in its face-value. Pasa yoga by itself can not make a person a prisoner. There must be other strong aspects in the horoscope that can cause him incarcenation. In the above example of Smt. Aiswarya Rai and many other cases no such mal-effect was found.

If the lord of birth-lagna and lagna stay in the 6^th and 8^th in Pasa drekkanas, a powerful combination causing imprisonment, the person suffers incarcenation. Example :-- 2

Sri Ayyadevara Kaleswara Rao worked as a Speaker of a State Legislative Assembly during 1948—56 period. He was a freedom-fighter and an eminent Congress leader. He sacrificed his profession and everything for the cause of gaining freedom for India. During 1928—45 period he spent several months in jail along with other congress leaders. Thus he suffered imprisonment several times. This was caused by Mars-Rahu conjunction in 10^th house with the malefic aspect (3^rd drushti) of Saturn on 10^th house and Mars and Rahu therein. The 10^th house had received no other benefic aspects (drushtis). The disposition of Pasa yoga might have contributed its share of evil in making the person suffer imprisonment. Example :-- 3 The horoscope of Smt. Sonia Gandhi; the world-famous lady-ruler and de-facto ruling head (Prime-Minister, President and all-in-one) of India for past 4 years (2004—09). She rose to absolute power and controls political elements in the country and thrashes opposition effectively. She is a lady of firm-will. She is adored by millions of people. She has many strong raja-yogams in her natal chart. This is another example wherein there are no malefic effects of Pasa yoga at all. .

Jupiter & Venus are in 5^th house from Moon (full); this is Hari-yoga; she is very intelligent, learned, wealthy and healthy. Moon, Mars, Venus and Jupiter give her a royal status, multi- billionaire riches and excellent life achievements. Budha-Aditya yogam is formed due to conjunction of Sun and Mercury in 5^th house (Sri Maha Lakshmi stanam); she has billions of riches and properties. Damini Yoga Part--104 (May—01--2009) Rule :-- If all the seven planets (except Rahu and Ketu) occupy six houses, Damini yoga is formed. Benefits:-- According to great astrologer-writer Sri Varahamihira of 4^th century A.C., in his famous astrological text, Brihath Samhitha enunciated the results of this yoga: the Damini yoga makes the person charitable, always helping others and protects cattle. Maharajha Kalayana Varma of 10^th century A.C. {king of Vyaghrapada kingdom (in present Madhya Pradesh)}, famous astrologer –writer; author of Saravali; glorifies this yoga. In addition to the above benefits, this yoga gives the man wealth, fame and intellect also. Example—1

This chart has (over) 36 strong maha-raja-yogas of the best quality and 5 planets are exalted. This is a rare horoscope of high strength and very beneficial. Example—2 This horoscope has Damini yoga. But the weekness of Lagna-adhipath marred the yoga. This horoscope is relatively week and less beneficial.
