CHANDRA—MANGALA YOGAM
Rule : If Mars (Kuja) and Moon (Chandra) are conjunct or Mars is in kendram (1,4,7 or 10) from Moon and they are not debilitated or afflicted or other afflicted or debilitated planets are not conjunct with Moon or Mars or both, the person enjoys Chanra-Mangala yogam. He shall be rich and prosperous and enjoy royal comforts all his life. Chandra, Mangala yuthau thathra sva, utcha sthaana gathe Chandra-Mangala yoga-mutchyathe; vishesha dhana laabhanche, raja-yoga-adhikam bhaveth. This is chart of a famous Maha Raja (king) who ruled a kingdom in south India during 1850—1890 period. Scorpio is lagnam. Moon is the lord of Cancer (9th house; konam); Sun is the lord of Leo (10th house; kendram). They are in conjunct in 7th house (Taurus; kendram); and there are no malefic effects. Moon is exalted in Taurus. Venus is exalted in konam (5th house). Mars is in his own house in lagnam (Ruchaka yoga: ruler, brave, arrogant, the victor. So this chart has Akhanda (uninterrupted) Raja-yogam. When such conjunction occurs, any of these two planets should not have, in addition, lordship of 8th (Randhra) or 11th (labha) houses. Or the lord of 8th or 11th should not conjunct with these yoga-karaka planets; lord of 8th house is much more malefic than lord of 11th house. Example :--5. This lady has a powerful Raja-yoga called Dharma-Karma Adhipathi Parivarthana yoga. The lord of Bhagyam (9th house; Virgo) is Mercury; the lord of Rajyam (10th house; Libra) is Venus. There is an exchange between Venus (Dharma-adhipathi) and Mercury (Karma-adhipathi). So this Maha-Raja yoga made her very rich due to Venus in 9th house and very generous and liberal due to Mercury in 10th house. She helped financially the families of her sisters and bothers who belonged to lower-middle class. She taught yoga free to many ladies; she arranged to train them in home-based industries like making pickles and sweets for sale, tailoring, embroidery-work; after training for 3 to 6 weeks, they started their own business and earned their livelihood. Thus she utilized her riches to serve poor ladies. Moon is in Aquarius (Indu-lagna); Mars is in his own house (Scorpio) and in in Kendra (10th house; Sri Narayana sthana) from Moon. This is a strong Chandra-Mangala yoga. In middle age, she became rich and enjoyed royal comforts in life.
