I explain some birth charts which support the rules : If the Kaarka (significator) planets are weak, or afflicted, even if they take the person to the business/profession/service indicated by these planets, or the significations of a particular house, the benefits will be poor and will cause financial strains to the person. Weak Kaarka planets, when afflicted by the functional malefics , can cause severe financial losses to the native. Example: 4

1) Jupiter is lord of 2nd (Pisces) Dhana –sthana and of 11th (Sagittarius) Laabha-sthana; he is in birth lagnam strong and well disposed. This is dhana-yogam.
2) Sun is exalted in Aries; Makare thrutheeyastha Ravi stithau, paripoorna su-yogadau, su-kalathravaan = (Jataka Marthanda) Sun is highly beneficial and gives many benefits in his periods, His wife is good and noble and very rich.
3) Moon is in 4th house (kendram, properties, own house and vehicles and is exalted in Taurus. But Moon is weak; so benefits are moderate.
4) Kumbhasya, Sukre, sukha, bhagya-naathe, lagna-sthitho thadaati athi-su-yogam; lagne, kendra, kone-stithau akhana-raja-yoga pradau = Venus is lord of 4th (properties and houses) (kendra) and 9th (Bhagha house) (kona); he is akhanda-yoga-kaaraka (the best benefactor) for aquarius lagna; he is in birth-lagna strong and well-disposed makes the person highly educated and a millionaire. Kumbhasya Sukra daayecha Vidya, Vitham akhandadaha . (Jataka Marthanda) 5) Guru, Sukra samayukthau, Janma-lagne vaa subha-sthaane, dvi-dasaa paripoorna us-yogadau, bha bhagya pravrudhischa, santhanasya-abhivardhanam = (Jataka Marthanda). The conjunction of Jupiter and Venus in birth-lagna (acquarius) is highly beneficial (yoga—kaaraka); both periods of Jupiter and Venus are highly beneficial. He shall be hale, healthy, wealth and happy all his life. He shall have very healthy and worthy children. 6) The 1st, 3rd. 8th, 11th houses rule financial gains contain moola-trikona signs. Besides being dhana-kaaraks (significators of financial prosperity). Saturn, Jupiter, Mars and Mercury can cause financial gains. All the planets are well-disposed. 7) Venus has beneficial effect on birth-lagna and 9th house (Bhagya) and on the lord of ascendant Saturn. These impart entrepreneurial capabilities to the person; he developed into an expert in the fields of company-law and business management. 8) The onset of the main period of Jupiter in 1973, gifted him a very high position of a senior level executive in a reputed company; he could draw the highest possible remuneration. He grew steadily in his career and profession. Saturn and Venus are both good functional benefics to him and lifted him to very high position of C.E.O during the sub-period of Venus during the main-period of Saturn. 9) There is a possibility of afflictions due to transits of these planets in Grhachara (Gochara); the person was advised to wear a Kavach at an auspicious time; he was advised to perform astral remedies like daanams, japams, and poojas to mitigate the malefic effects of Moon. 10) Mars is the lord of 3rd house, house of initiative and Mars is weak; Mercury is the lord of 8th house (Randhra) and is posited in 3rd house (upachaya) and is malefic. So both Moon and Mercury did not permit him to venture to begin business on his own, despite his excellent experience and professional competence.
