Maha Raja yogas in his horoscope :- :-- Any Raja-yoga (beneficial yoga), like the conjunction of lords of 9^th and 10^thhouses, or Gaja-Kesari yoga can be enjoyed by the person, only when any one of these yoga-karaka dasas (beneficial periods) occurs in the prime of his / her life (say between 18 & 65 years), the person can enjoy the raja-yogam fully. If the yoga-karaka dasa (period) occurs in childhood (before 15 years or in old age (after 65 years), the person can not enjoy fully the benefits of raja-yoga. Also the birth lagna and its lord must be strong. Also the planets involved in yogam must be well-disposed, strong and devoid of malefic effects like dagdha (combusted), neecha (debilitated) or in malefic houses like 3,6,8, and / or 12; they should not be conjunct with or (seen) aspected (drushti) by any malefic planet. Then only the Raja-yogam can give beneficial results. Otherwise, the yoga is present but is spoiled and wasted. I noticed in my experience of 48 years as an astrology-practitioner, that in 98% of the horoscopes some four to nine different types of Raja-yogas are present; they are weak or ruined by other malefic effects. 1) Budha-Aditya yoga :- Ravi, Soumya yuthau thathra sva, utcha sthaana gathe Budha-Aditya yogamutchyathe; vishesha dhana laabhanche, vanijya-vardhanam. If it occurs in birth lagna, then Budha-Aditya yogam the Maha-raja yogam is enhanced. The person enjoys royal comforts in life. If malefic or debilitated or afflicted planets also conjunct with Ravi and Budha in the same house, the yogam is ruined. If the distance between Sun and Mercury is less than or equal to 3*, the yoga is powerful. If the distance is more it is known as Nipuna yoga and is less powerful. Sun is exalted in Aries. Sun (11*32’) and Mercury (24*41’) are conjunct in 10^th house (Kendra; Sri Narayana sthana) in Aries causes strong Nipuna yoga. He was very highly skillful and intelligent in his profession, namely religion revival and propagation. Though he led the life of a hermit (Sanyasi), he was provided with all royal comforts by his devotees, who were rulers of different states (kingdoms) all over India. 2) Gaja-kesari yoga :- Jupiter and Moon are conjunct in 12^th house (Gemini) from birth lagna; and in Rasi lagna (Moon) both Kendra (Sri Narayana sthana) and kona (Sri Maha Lakshmi sthana). This is strong Gaja-kesari yoga :-- Chandra-kendre Bruhaspathihi; Gaja-kesari yoga sanjatho, subha-yogam, satha aayu praapthihi. = This gives him excellent royal comforts and best benefits all his life, millions of rupees worth financial gains and success in all his efforts and longevity. He spent all the donations he got for financing his religious propagation activities and helping the poor and needy people. He lived for full 120 years. Jupiter and Moon, if they form a strong Gaja-kesari yoga which, according to ancient texts makes one a "leader of their village, splendorous, intelligent, endowed with laudable virtues, roar like a lion in public assembly and will please the king / ruler of the land".

According to Jataka Desamarga, when Jupiter possessed the exceeding strength with clear bright rays, occupies the lagna, the child born should be declared to be free from all afflictions. “Hanthi sarva-graha arishtaam, Chandra Kendre Bruhaspathihi ! Yatha Gaja sahasraani nihanthi eko’ api Kesari !” = This sloka (Sanskrit verse) means that Jupiter posited in a kendra position to the Moon (Gaja-kesari Yoga) wards off all evils (that would otherwise befall on a child) caused by all the planets, just as a lion, though single, is able to kill thousands of elephants.

Jatakaa Parijata says : Chadra Kendrago Bruhaspathi, yath purusha, athi-balavaan, spurath, amsumaalee; svar-loka-raja; sachivaha, shamayeda vashyam; eko’ bhooni durithaani, su-dustharaani bhakyaa prayukthashva, shoola-dhare pranamaha = that if a powerful Jupiter in his full rays is posited in a kendra (1,4,7,10), he alone wards off all aristhas just as a sincere prayer to God Mahadev destroys all sins of the devotee. 3) Kedara Yoga :- Rule :-- If all the seven planets (except Rahu and Ketu) occupy any four houses, Kedara yoga is formed. Benefits :-- The person earns his livelihood from agriculture; he is helpful to others. He leads a happy and prosperous life and enjoys all royal comforts. Note :- Horoscopes of great persons with divine nature, like Bhagavan Sri Krishna, Bhagavan Sri Rama and Bhagavan Sri Ramanujacharya are elusive. They can not be analysed applying the ordinary principles and known combinations of planets described in the Vedic astrology texts of yore. -------------

I publish the Horoscope Analysis of Bhagavan Gautama Buddha in a serial order in twelve parts starting from Sept—8—2009.

Gautama Buddha was one of the greatest saints produced in India to spread human values and reform the practices like casteism, other superstitious practices in Hinduism prevalent in his period. He called Dharma (right behaviour). Later it got shaped into a separate religion “Buddhism”. He is adored by millions of people all over the Asian Nations as supreme God.

Horoscope analysis – Gautama Buddha

Part – 1 Sept—8--2009

Siddhartha, Gautama are the names given by parents. His father King Suddhodhana ruled over the vast Sakya kingdom (the present Nepal), with Kapilavasthu as his capital. His mother was Mayadevi; she died soon after Siddhartha was born. He was born in a royal garden called, Lumbini vana.

Date of birth = April—14—0623 before Christ; Vaisakha punnami; noon at about 12 hrs. His birth star = Visakha—1 pada. Tuesday. Remainder of Guru dasa (Jupiter’s period) at birth time was 15 ys—1m – 6 days. Kaliyuga era = 2479. Latitude = 27*08’ North; Longitude = 83*05’ East.

Pisces -9- Jupiter Sun Saturn Venus Mars Taurus Mercury (11) Rahu (12) -8- RAASI Lagna Arudha lagna Leo Ketu -5- Moon Virgo

Horoscopes of great persons with divine nature, like Bhagavan Sri Krishna, Bhagavan Sri Rama and Bhagavan Sri Gautama Buddha are elusive. They can not be analysed applying the ordinary principles and known combinations of planets described in the Vedic astrology texts of yore. King Sudhodhana consulted his court-astrologers to explain the new-born boy’s horoscope. They found 5 planets in Mesha (Aries), the 10^th house (Rajya sthana; Kendra; Sri Narayana sthana), The lord of birth lagna (Karkataka, Cancer) was Moon and he was in 4^th house (Kendra; Sri Narayana sthana). Moon was full (Punnami) and was in Libra (Tula), its lord was Sukra (Venus). Also Moon was aspected (7^th drushti) by 5 planets in Mesha (Sun, Jupiter, Mars, Venus and Saturn). So Moon, the lagna-lord was highly fortified (strengthened). Sun was exalted and is in Mesha (Aries). They predicated that the boy grows up to become either a great enlightened ascetic (sanyasi) or a mighty emperor (and conqueror of the entire world) after his 30^th year. In either case, he shall earn everlasting fame and name and shall rule the hearts and souls of millions of people all over the world for thousands of years to come. (to be continued tomorrow).
