Duryoga (Malefic); How it is cancelled
(July—13—2010); Tuesday. Rule : Dasama-adhipe, paapa-sthana gathe Duryogam sambhvam = The 10th house is Karma-sthanam (house of action; profession). If the lord of 10th house is in a malefic house, that is, 6th, 8th or 12th, the person suffers a malefic yoga. Results :- The person may not enjoy the fruits of his own profession / hard-work. He may be looked down upon by others. He may be selfish; he may have deceiving nature. He leaves his native place and lives in a foreign country. My comments :-- The 10th house (Sri Narayana sthana) is the pivot of the natal chart. Its lord must be strong and must be a beneficial house if the life of the person is tolerably happy and fuitful. If the lord of 10th house is in a malefic house, he loses all his strength / vitality; so such a weak planet confers failure of the person in his profession. It bestows him such qualties that he is treated as an insignificant person in the society. He harms others; he is selfish and tries to prosper by deceiving and plundering other people. A person having this Duryoga in his horoscope, may not enjoy the benefits of his profession / hard-work. This yoga also indicates, the person does hard labour to earn his livelihood. Of the three malefic houses, 12th house is the least malefic, as far as this Duryoga is concerned. The yoga may deprive the person the benefits of his profession / toil, but the peron possesses noble qualities; he is respected in the society. Hereunder I give an example of a natal chart having this Duryoga; but the person is noble and generous; he is well-respected in the society.

This chart has Duryoga. Saturn is the lord of both Capricorn, the 9th (dharma, bhagya sthana) and Aquarius, the 10th (karma; profession) house. He is in the 12th house (Vyaya; loss and expenditure). (1) Jupiter and Moon are conjunct (Gaja-kesari Yoga) in 5th house (Sri Lakshmi sthanam). (2) Sun amd Mercury are conjunct (Budha-Adhipathya yogam) in birth lagana (Sri Lakshmi Narayana sthanam). (3) Jupiter is the lord of Pisces, the 11th house (laabham; gains). He is in 5th house (Sri Lakshmi sthanam). (4) Venus, is the lord of lagnam (Taurus); he is in the 2nd house (Dhanam; riches). (5) Moon is in Virgo (Rasi Lagna); Jupiter is in Rasi lagna; Mercury is in 9th house (Bhagyam; luck and fortune); Venus is in 10th house from Moon. So these highly beneificial yogas removed the ava-yoga (Duryoga). Saturn in the 12th house made him leave his native place (Vijayanagaram) and settle in USA after his 21 year of age. He is now a citizen of USA. He is a business magnet and a millionaire. He is pious and generous and charitable. He dontes15 to 20 thousand dollars per year to ISCKON temple; and two scholarships of 5 thousand dollars per year to poor meritorious students studying in ISCKON schools in Barsana and Brundavan in India.
