Analysis of the horoscope of Sri Ramanujacharya

6) Second Murder Attempt : Saturn is the lord of 7th house (Capricorn), a maraca sthana; he is powerful. Also Saturn is the lord of 8th house (Aquarius), aayu-sthana and has given him purna-ayu (full longevity). During Saturn main period and Saturn sub-period there was another attempt of murder on him. He escaped the ordeal due to the purna-ayu nature of his horoscope. 7) Consecration of temple:- Venus is the lord of Libra, 5th house from Moon (Rasi-lagna) and is highly beneficial. The lord of Chandra / Rasi lagna is Mercury. He is in 11th house (Labham; gains) from Moon (Rasi lagna). Venus and Saturn are in mutual trines (konas); Venus is in 5th house (kona) from Saturn; Saturn is in 9th house (kona) from Venus. All these beneficial factors enabled Sri Ramanuja to discover the temple and consecrate the idol / statue therein during the main period of Venus and sub-period of Saturn. 8) Persecution : Venus is the lord of a kendra; 4th house (Libra); he is in a Kendra (10th house), Aries. He has Kendra-adhipatha dosha (malefic effect due to the lordship of a quadrant). So during the period of Venus, Sri Ramanuja suffered persecution from the then king of the Tamilnadu Kulothunga Chola. 6) Royal Patronage :- Sun is exalted in 10th house (Sri Narayana sthana; karma sthana; action) and is conjunct with Venus. Due to these beneficial factors, Sri Ramanuja received full royal patronage from Maharaja Vishnuvardhana; this helped Sri Ramanuja to spread extensively his new doctrine of Visishta Advitha in the Karnataka (Mysore) state. 7) Death :- Sri Ramanuja lived for 120 years (Vimsothara ayu). Rahu dasa came again in his life. He died during the sub-period of Mercury in the main period of Rahu. In Rasi chart. Rahu was in Taurus; its lord was Venus. The 2nd house (Leo), was maraca sthana, Sun its lord was a powerful maraca (death causing) planet. Sun and Venus were conjunct with Mercury (lord of 12th house, Moksha sthana). In Nava Amsa chart, the sub-period lord Mercury (the lord of 12th house, Moksha sthana; Virgo) was conjunct with malefic Ketu and was in 2nd house (maraca sthana) and was apected (7th drushti) by malefic Rahu (lord of main period), who was in 8th house (aayu stana). All these factors caused his death in Rahu-Mercury period.
My Remarks :- Like Sri Adi Sankaracharya, Sri Ramanujacharya earned ever-lasting fame and had an excellent spiritual attainment; this enabled him to protect himself from the clutches of desires and attachments. His horoscope illustrates an active, long, useful and eventful life (saardhaka-jeevi). The horoscopes has many virtues from the spiritual point ov view. (1) Jupiter is the planet of wisdom; he is in 12th house, the Moksha-sthana (house of salvation) and lord of lagna Moon is conjunct. (2) Sun is exalted in Aries, the 10th house, Karma-sthana (house of action) and is conjunct with Mercury, the planet of intellect and wisdom.
3) Sri Ramanuja, like Sri Adi Sankara, played a notable role as a fearless and faithful stalwart in the field of religious reforms and social reforms like eradicating evils like untouchability. He shaped the Hinduism as a religion of lovable devotion to an all-pervading, all-powerful, all-knowing and an all-merciful Bhagavan Sri Narayana. Sri Ramanuja emphasized the value of true devotion, faith, service, total surrender to Bhagavan (God) and the paramount need for moral conduct, sin-free-life and selflessness in day-to-day life. All these are due to the aspect (7th drushti) of Jupiter-Moon combination on Saturn. (concluded). -----------(to be continued tomorrow).
