5. Mercury : Vyaya-sthithe sasi-nandane, vimala-murthy, dhana-varjithaha; para-kalthra dhane kuthihi; bhavath-sathatham akshara thath karathaam sraveth = Swamiji has magnetic personality; he never earned money for his own prosperity; he was financially helped by some rich and generous lady-followers for his noble endeavours; he wrote many books both in philosophy and science. Now I explain the effect of (benefic) Mercury in 12th house (vyaya; loss) = Lagna vyaye Budha-phalam. Twelfth house (malefic) denotes losses and impediments, restraint and limitation, waste and extravagance, expenses, drudgery and deception, investments, donations, charities, separation from family, going to far away places, sorrow and sin, misery and misfortune, poverty, imprisonment, secret enemies, confinement in hospital, association, fraud, scandal, disgrace, secret sorrows, success through occult affairs, the feet, the left eye, the left ear, comforts of bed, debts, life in a foreign place and Moksha (final salvation).
General Effects:- The person may be capricious and way-ward. He may indulge in extra-marital relations with many women and suffer penury. He may be very unhappy due to his perverted thinking. He may have very few (one or two) children. Business may not be proftable to him. Note :- Presence of Maharaja yogas (beneficial) or Ava yogas (malefic) in the horoscope is not enough. The strength and effectiveness of the yoga is to be assessed. Even if a dozen yogas are present, if they are weak or spoiled by other malefic effects, like conjunction with or aspected by malefic planets (like Saturn) or the lords of the house staying in inimical or debilitated house or get combusted or the like, they do not give benefits to the person. Similarly, malefic planets may not give malefic results if they are conjunct with or aspected by benefics like Jupiter and or stay in their own house or in exalted house. .
