ASTROLOGY IS THE EYE OF WISDOM

Astrology is the eye of wisdom.

“Jyotisha (Astrology) is para vidya (divine knowledge), the eye of wisdom, demonstrable knowledge, not a bread winning subject." Great sage astrologer like Maharshi Bhrugu, Maharshi Parasara, Mahrshi Jaimin, Maharshi Athri, Maharshi Narada and a dozen others did Tapas for many decades of) years and had divine visions; they wrote those visions as Sanskrit Verses; thus Jyothisha was born 5000 years B.C. Hindus had divine scriptures “Vedas”. They have Veda Angas (limbs of Vedas). Jyothisha (Astrology) and Aayurveda (Medicine) occupy most important of those Angas. These enable the lives of humans on this earth a heaven.
Till recent times Jyothisha was taught in Gurukula system in India. In some family it is passed on as a tradition from generation to generation; there are still reputed families in Krishna-Godavari rivers region like Pidaparthi, Nemani and Tangirala and dozens of such families wherein Astrology was passed on from generation to generation. The rulers of the land, Maharajas (kings), used to donate hundreds of acres of lands and cattle to these families; these family-members spent all their times in the practice of Astrology free of charge to people. Then they were affluent families. Similarly Aayurveda medicine was also patronized by Maharajas (kings).
During Muslim and British rule this patronage decreased drastically; during independent India, this patronage was totally destroyed. 98% of Indians, especially Hindus, are ignorant of these divine subjects and even foolish to vehimently oppose these divine sciences.
Some enlightened foreigners learnt Astrology; they often joined a Guru (teacher), spent 2 or 3 years of study and started practice in their native towns. BAVA (Britain), ACVA (California) and a dozen reputed institutes now function successfully serving Vedic Astrology. There are scores of Universities in many countries outside India offering courses (degrees) in Vedic Astrology. Bharateeya Vidya Bhavan (India) now offers courses in Vedic Astrology in India.
During epic and purana stories, we find hundreds of examples of Astrology and aayurveda medicine used for welfare of people. Maharshi (sage-astrologer) Agastya visited Sri Rama when he reached Dhanushkodi; the sage predicted that Sri Rama would kill Demon Ravana and attain victory; he examined the Grahacharam (astrology) aspects of Sri Rama and instructed him to chant Aditya Hrudayam thrice daily as a remedial practice for malefic effects. Sri Rama obeyed him and attained victory. When Sri Lakshmana was wounded and went into coma, Agastya prescribed Sanjeevani plant juice as an effective cure. Sri Hanuman flew to Himalayas and brought the hill of Gandhamadhana by dawn. The juice of Sanjeevani saved Sri Lakshmana; it also saved thousands of monkeys to survive after near-death in the war. Such examples we find plenty.
Even in my own life experience, I realized the utility of astrology; I assessed the future events of my children when they were born. I started providing for their future needs twenty years ahead. I sent them to USA for higher education and jobs and good settlement in life. Predicting future is an extra divine eye gifted by God to astrologers; they foresee both good and bad events well ahead and guide the persons to meet the situations and to derive the best advantages.
