I illustrate the principles with some examples (natal charts). Example : 1

In this chart, (1) Mars is the lord of
Aries, the 2nd house (and also 9th house) and is exalted
in 11th house (profits and gains). (2) Jupiter is the puthra-kaaraka
(bestower of chidren) is lagna lord and is in 4th house (Kendra; Sri
Narayana sthanam). (3) The 5th
house is Cancer and its lord is Moon and is in 10th house forming
strong Gaja-kesari yoga with Jupiter. (4) Jupiter (best benefic) aspects Moon
and the 10th house. (5) Moon
(giver of daughters) is in 19th house. (6) Jupiter is the lord of
lagna as well us 10th house.
All these benefic factors resulted in his
having 3 sons and 1 daughter (all are very illustrious and gifted). Now all
of them are above 35 years of age.

In this chart, (1) Jupiter is the lord of 2nd
(Sagittatius) and 5th house (pisces) and is in his own house in 5th
house (Kona; Sri Lakshmi sthana). (2) Moon is the lord of 10th house
(Cancer). He is full moon (Punnami) and is exalted in 7th house
(Kendra; Sri Narayana sthana). Astrologically she can have many sons because
the lord of 2nd and 5th house is Jupiter (male) and is
also giver of sons. She
had first child a son due to strong Jupiter and next, a daughter due to a
strong Moon. But she underwent family
planning operation during the birth of the 2nd child birth. It is
now a good practice to have only 2 children, so that the parents can be best
attention, good higher education and settlement in life to children. Example : 3

In this chart, the person was born in the Cancer ascendant.
The 2nd house lord, Sun (the lord of the house of continuity of family), placed
in the 3rd house is weak. The 8th house
lord, Saturn (the lord of the house of obstructions and hurdles) is placed in its
own house afflicting the 2nd house (7th drushti) and the
5th house (10th drushti). 2nd and 5th
houses are the houses of continuity of family life and children respectively.
The man was married in 1991 and has not been blessed by child birth. He is
running under period of Jupiter/Venus (sub period) when he consulted the
astrologer; from the 23rd May 1998 to the 23rd January 2001. The Venus is
placed in the 2nd house, in the current period. The person was
performing remedies for malefic aspects in the chart since long and during 2001
his wife was expecting a child (a boy), after 9 years of married life after
performing santhis.

enjoys life in his youth (21 to 50 age); he has only one worthy son; he
can not take firm aim or decision in his life, which leads to his failure in
profession. (5) The lord of 10th house (Pisces) is Jupiter; Jupiter
is giver of sons; he is in 4th house (Sri Narayana sthanam). He has only one worthy son. Example : 5

1) Virgo is the birth lagna of this lady. (2)
The 2nd house is Libra and Venus is its lord. (3) He is in 4th house (Sri
Narayana sthana) in his enemy (Jupiter) house in Sagittatius. (4) Sani is the
lord of the 5th house (Capricorn). (5) Sani aspects (7th
drushti) the 5th house is malefic. (6) Jupiter is in 6th
house (enemy) house is giver of sons. (7) Mercury is the lord of 10th
house (Gemini) and is in 4th house (Sri Narayana sthana). So it is a mixture of both benefic and
malefic factors. Malefic factors caused
her eldest son to be born with Autism and mentally retarded. The beneficial factors bestowed her one daughter
as 2nd child and a son as 3rd child; then she underwent
vasectomy operation. ----------
Example
: 6 :-
Rule : In any chart the puthra sthanam (5th
house; progeny) happens to be the house if Mercury (Gemini or Virgo) or the
house of Sani (Capricorn or Auarius) or (2) the lord of 5th house is
conjunct with or aspected by Mercury or Sani, the person will not have
children. If Jupiter is strong and
beneficial, the person adopts a child.
The second house must be good and beneficial to have children. .

In this chart, Virgo is lagnam. The 5th house is Capricorn (Lord
is Sani). Sani is conjunct with Mercury
and is in 2nd house (family).
Jupiter is in 10th house and i
is strong.
So the person had no children and had adoption of children.
Example
: 7 :- Rule :
In any birth chart, 1, 2, 5 and 9 are good house. These houses or their lords should not have
any relation with Mercury or Sani.

In this chart, Sani is in birth
lagnam (Aquarius). Jupiter is the lord
of the 2nd house (Pisces).
Jupiter is conjunct with Mercury.
