Gautama Buddha was one of the greatest saints produced in India to spread human values and reform the practices like casteism, other superstitious practices in Hinduism prevalent in his period. He called Dharma (right behaviour). Later it got shaped into a separate religion “Buddhism”. He is adored by millions of people all over the Asian Nations as supreme God.

Horoscope analysis – Gautama Buddha

Part – 10 Sept—18--2009

12) Venus and Jupiter are conjunct in 10th house (Sri Hari yoga in Sri Narayana sthana). Due to this raja-yoga, he could annihilate all sensuous passions; he lead a noble life of immaculate purity. 13) Mercury is in 11th house (laabha) in a upachaya house. This yoga bestowed him unsurpassed intellectual eminence.

Important Events in the life of Gautama Buddha : (1) He was married to a beautiful princess Yasodara when he was young; only at 16 years of age. His marriage occurred during the Sani’s inner-period during Sani sub-period in the main period of Saturn. Saturn was highly beneficial to him as the lord of the Aarudha lagna and also the 7th house (Capricorn); house of marriage, wife and married life. Saturn was also the lord of Aquarius; 5th house (Sri Lakshmi sthana) from Rasi-lagna (Moon; Libra). Saturn was also conjunct with Venus (Kalathra kaaraka; significator of wife and marriage) and the lord of 10th house (Mars).

2) Saturn and Mars are conjunct and are in 7th house from Moon (Rasi lagna). Due to this benefit, Gautama spent his time amid royal luxuries with their constant stimulations self-centered enjoyment and indulgence. He was always protected very carefully by his father King Sudhodhana from knowing about the sorrows, agonies and frustrations of human life.

3) Mars was the lord of 5th house (Puthra sthana; children). He was blessed with a son Rahul during the end of Mars’ sub-period.

4) When Gautama completed his 29th year of age, Rahu sub-period in Saturn main period started. Rahu was in 12th house (moksha sthana). Gautama made the great renunciation, He left the bed-room where his young wife Yasodara and son Rahul were fast asleep, after midnight. He left the royal palace and wandered into the forest. Thereafter he wandered for six years doing penance (tapas) in the forests, during the Jupiter sub-period in Saturn main period and followed by Mercury sub-period in the main period of Mercury. During this six years period he fully experienced the Hatha Yoga. (Hatha Yoga is preparatory stage of physical purification that the body practises for higher meditation. The Asanas and Pranayama in Raja Yoga were what the Hindu Yogis used to physically train their body for long periods of meditation. This practice is called shatkarma. The word Hatha is a compound of the words Ha and Tha meaning sun and moon, referring to Praana and Apaana, and also to the principal naadis (energy channels) of the subtle body that must be fully operational to attain a state of dhyana or samādhi. The word "hatha" also means forceful. It is a strong practice done for purification. In other respects Hatha yoga follows the same principles as the Raaja Yoga of Patanjali including moral restraint yaama and spiritual observances niyama.) He was not satisfied with the oucome. So he began meditation (tapas). (to be continued tomorrow). You can get my full particulars from my web-site : www.jyothishi.com.
