9) Venus :- Venus was the lord of 4th house (Libra) and he was in his own house. Mathru karaka (significator of mother) is Moon and is in birth lagna. In Nava Amsa also the 4th house is well-disposed. In Rasi, the 9th house is Pisces; its lord is Jupiter and is in his own house (Sagittarius). These planetary combinations explain the affection and deep attachment Nehru had to his mother and father.
The 4th house was the house of education; it was well fortified. Two benefics Venus (own house) and Mercury were positioned in that house. Besides Sun was in 5th house. So he had excellent higher education; he earned a Law Degree from England. He owned a huge bungalow “Ananda Bhavan” at Allahabad. Now it houses Nehru Museum. Opinions of ancient expert saint-astrologers :- Now, I explain the effect of Sukra in 4th bahaava = Lagnath chathurthe, Bhrugu phalalam; it denotes mother, education, vehicles, lands, properties, houses, face, water sources (well, tank), agriculture, diary (cattle and milk and milk products). Effects : Views of renowned astrologers : 1) Saint-Astrologer Maharshi Parasara (Great grand-father of Pandavas and Kauravas of Mahabharatha epic; father of Maharshi Veda Vyasa, author of Maha Bharatha) wrote : (sloka = Sanskrit verse) : BHAVATHI BANDHU GATHAE SUKRAE, BAHU-KALATHRA-RATHO; BAHU KAAMUKAHA; NVAMA- ESO, SHKHA-BHAAVA-GATHAE THATHAA, BAHULA-BHAAGYA-YUTHA, SUKHA-BHOGAADHEE = If Sukra (Venus) is in 4th bhaavam, the person enjoys sexual pleasures with several women (men); he has sex thirst. If Sukra is also the lord of 9th (birth lagna is Aquarius (Kumbham) and stays in 4th house (Taurus; Vrushabham), the person will be highly rich and prosperous and enjoys royal luxuries, vehicles (cars), mansions, gardens, landed properties, royal status, and pleasures all his life. His mother enjoys happy, healthy, wealthy life with long life-span. He enjoys fine arts like music, dance, drama, sculptures and paintings. He is a great scholar / poet / musician. He is honoured as pundit. His / her married life will be very happy and fruitful.
2) Bhrigu Sutras- by saint-astrologer Maharishi Bhrigu (3500 BC) :-- Suthra (23):- Sobhana-vaan; budhi-maan; maathru soukhyam; sukhee, kshamaa-vaan. Suthra (24) :- Thri-dasath varshe, ashwa-vaahana praapthihi. Suthra (25) :- Ksheera-samrudhi; Chathurtha Bhaava-adheeshe bala-yuthe, ashwa, aandolikaa, kanaka, chathuranga-adi vrudhihi. Suthra (26) :- Thathra Sukra paapa-graha yuthe, paapa-kshethre, ari, neechage, bala-heene, kshthra, vaahana adi-viheenaha. Suthra (27):- Maathru-kleshavaan. Suthra (28); Kalathra-anathara (para-sthree) bhogee = If Venus is in the fourth house, the native will be handsome, intelligent, will have happiness from brothers, will be happy and of forgivable nature. In his 30th year he will possess conveyances pulled by horses. He will also have abundance of milk. If the lord of the fourth house is strong the native will possess horses, palanquins and gold etc. If the lord of the fourth house, is associated with a malefic, is in the house of a malefic or his enemy or is debilitated or is otherwise weak, the native will be without lands or conveyances. His mother will be in distress and he will have illicit relations with women other than his wife.
My explanation - According to above Sutras the placement of Venus in the fourth will be beneficial to the native in regard to the significations of the fourth house and more so if the lord of the fourth is well placed. Sutra 23 talks of happiness from brothers, if Venus is in the fourth. This is not relevant to the significations of Venus or the fourth house. It will be noted that no mention has been made in the above Sutras of the effects of Venus when he is in own sign or his sign of exaltation. In the fourth house Venus will be in Kendra to the ascendant. His disposition in his own sign or in his sign of exaltation will give rise to Malavya yoga the effects of which have already been described earlier in this chapter. It is not clear how a benefic like Venus in the 4th can give distress to mother. The placement of Venus for Virgo, Capricorn and Aquarius ascendants will prove very beneficial as Venus will be in
the fourth as lord of the 2nd and 9th, the 5th and 10th and the 4th and 9th respectively. These dispositions will give rise to powerful Dhana yogas.
3)Brihath Jataka by Varhamihira (325 AC) :The person will be happy. He is blessed with vehicles, own house and the like.
4) Phala-deepika by Manthreswara :- The native will possess a good conveyance, good house, ornaments, dresses and articles of perfumery.
5)Saravali by Maha-Raja Kalyana Varma (10th century A.C; king of Vyaghrapaada kingdom) :- The native will have happiness from relations and friends, will possess conveyance and house and will be handsome and generous.
6) Chamatkar Chintamani by Narayana Bhatt (5th century AC) -- The native will be superior to others. He will get many gifts from his followers. He will look after his mother from his early life.
7) Jataka Kalanidhi : BHOJANVAAN, BUDHIMAAN, MAATHRU-SOUKHYAM, GO-SAMPADA, VAAHANA-SOUKYAM, BHAGYAVAAN = When Sukra is in 4th house, he loves sumptuous meals and delicious food; he is clever, wise and intelligent and good-natured; his mother enjoys hale, healthy and happy life and he gets affection and care of his mother; he has plenty of cattle and dairy products; he has all his life, luxurious vehicles to ride (cars, motor boats); he is a multi-millionaire; owns lands & houses.
My Comments -All the above astrologers have attributed good effects to Venus in the fourth house but in their own way.
