Part—16 (Nov—28—2009) 13) Three planets, namely, Moon, Venus and Jupiter were in their own houses. Also there are beneficial aspects (drushtis) on the 10th house (Aries; Rajya sthana). Jupiter (5th drushti); Mercury and Venus (7th drushti), Mars (8th drushti) and Moon. These factors gave rise to a powerful Raja-yoga. These factors gave exceptional strength and beneficial nature to the horoscope. These blessed him with exceptional noble qualities of head and heart. His sincerity, frankness, single-mindedness, capacity for hard work, and extensive knowledge of the affairs of the world were all the gifts of this Raja-yoga to him. 14) Some intellectuals jocularly called him as a celebrated “jail-bird”; there was truth in this. Birth-lagna has strong Moon (its lord) in it. Two benefics Venus and Mercury aspect (7th drushti) the 10th house (karma-sthana); Venus and Mercury are both subjected to a powerful papa-karthari yota (hemmed between two malefics), Mars in 3rd house and Sun in 5th house. The Sun is in Scoprio, a keetaka (insect) rasi and is in a Kendra (4th house) from malefic Saturn. His intellectual output in prison is prodigious. Mercury is a planet of intellect and is hemmed between Mars and Sun. This enabled him to write huge volumes of books while in jail; they included world famous books like Discovery of India and Glimpses of World History. These are compendiums of history and culture coupled with his brilliant analysis of events in history. They reflect his genius and in-depth knowledge and extensive wisdom. 15) Nehru’s political doctrines are also revealed in his horoscope. Mars is in 3rd house (of intellect). He is not positioned in 7th house or does not aspects it. This made him a dictator cum democrat. Now I conclude the horoscope analysis of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. I now summarise the combinations of great significations (yogas) in this horoscope to students of astrology, who learn the subject of Vedic Astrology, studying my daily blog articles: 1) Outstanding Raja yogas namely, Malavya, Srika, Raja Lakshana, Parijatha, Damini, Sankha are present in the horoscope of Jawaharlal Nehru. 2) The par excellence of birth lagna and its lord Moon in it gave unusual strength to the horoscope. All these potentialities of the horoscope were ruined and their expression was prevented by the strong papa-karthari yoga (hemmed between two malefics Rahu in 12th house and Saturn in 2nd house. 3) Three beneficial planets are positioned in their own houses; Moon in cancer, Venus in Libra and Jupiter in Sagittarius. 4) Aries is the 10th house (karma sthana). It has combined effect of the powerful aspects (drushtis) and influenced the course of his actions all his life. Mercury and Venus (7th drushti); Jupiter (5th drushti) and Mars (lord of Aries) had powerful 8th drushti. 5) The lagna, both birth and Chandra, and lagna lord Moon suffering strong papa-karthari yoga, indicates a feeling of loneliness and depression he felt often. 6) Jupiter is in his own house (Sagittarius) and powerfully aspected (5th drushti) the 10th house (karma-sthana) gifted Nehru a pure heart. So he strongly believed that the means must be pure and end must be justified by the means. He was genuine and pure both in his heart and actions. But not the otherwise way; as the thousands of present and past time political leaders all over the world believe: the end that justifies the means (even if the means are dirty, sinful and harming the billions of the people).
