RAJA YOGAS IN VEDIC ASTROLOGY.

Maha-raja (King) Yogas (3) (June—7-2009) Sunday Saturn and birth lagna in Capricorn; Jupiter in Cancer makes a person have power and money.

Sloka : Kuja thunge, Arka, Indu Dhanushi; Yama-lagnecha ku-pathihi; pathir bhoomechanyaha; kshithi-sutha vilagne saaksha-sani; sa-chandre, saure as the; sura-pathi Guruau chaapa-dharage; sva-thungasthe bhaana udayamuyayathe, kshithi-pathihi = (1) If Kuja (Mars) is in Makara (Capricorn) and Ravi (Sun) and Chandra (Moon) are in Dhansu (Sagittarius) and if birth-lagna rises in Makara (Capricorn) with Sani (Saturn) in Makara, the person shall be a king (Maha-Raja). If in this planetary combination mentioned above, (2) the Moon (Chandra) is conjunct with Kuja (Mars) in birth lagna; or (3) if Saturn (Sani) and Moon (Chandra) are conjunct in the 7^th house of zodiac (Libra) and if Jupiter (Guru) is in Sagittarius (Dhanasu) and if Sun and birth-lagna are in Aries (Mesha) and the Sun is exalted in Aries (Mesha), the person shall be a king (ruler). 2 these examples I have not mentioned the other planets and an intelligent astrologer can easily fix the positions of other planets (Sun, Mercury, Venus, Rahu and Ketu) in their proper houses and can predict the Raja-yogas in any horoscope.

Explanation : Three separate arrangements of planets are mentioned in this Sloka (Rule) for a person to become a king (Maha-raja). (1) If birth-lagna rises in Makara (Capricron) and Saturn and Mars are conjunct in Makara and Jupiter, Sun and Moon are conjunct and occupy Dhansu (Sagittarius); that is Vyaya (12^th house) from lagna; the person has chance to become a king (ruler).

(2) If birth lagna rises in Makara and Kuja (Mars) and Chandra (Moon) are conjunct in Makara and if Suni occpies Dhanasu (Sagittarius), the person born the can become a king / ruler. (3) If birth lagna rises in Aries (Mesha) nad Kuja (Mars) is in Aries (Mesha), his own house and Sani (Saturn) and Chandra (Moon) are conjunct in Tula (Libra) and Jupiter (Guru) occupies his own house (or moola-trikona) in Dhanasu (Sagittarius), the person can acquire royal status and power. The author of the Sloka (Stanza) said Yama lagna. This may mean the own houses of Sani (Saturn), namely Makara (Capricorn) and Kumbha (Aquarius). Maharshi Bhatothpala (saint-astrologer) and Maharshi Mandavya support Makara (Capricorn) as Yama-lagna.
