I already published over 890 articles (one a day) on various topics of Vedic Astrology in my blog starting from June-1-2008. I received many thousands of e-mail expressing their appreciation of my articles and the blog; the articles contain subject density. I trust the contents of my blog are very useful to amateur astrologers, who desire to master the subject. I publish the Horoscope Analysis of Bhagavan Gautama Buddha in a serial order in 14 parts starting from Oct—28—2010.
Gautama Buddha was one of the greatest saints produced in India to spread human values and reform the practices like casteism, other superstitious practices in Hinduism prevalent in his period. He preached Dharma (right behaviour) as a reformed Hinduism. Later it got shaped into a separate religion “Buddhism”. He is adored by millions of people all over the Asian Nations as supreme God. Hindus worship him as one of the ten Avatharas (incarnations) of Bhagavan Sri Narayana.
Horoscope analysis – Gautama Buddha
Part – 12 Nov—9--2010
5) Mercury is in 11th house (laabha) in a upachaya house. This bestowed him unsurpassed intellectual eminence. During Mercury sub-period of Nercury’s main period, during his 35th year, he realized he got “realization of ultimate truth” It was again his birth-day, Vaiskha Punnami (full Moon day); while he was sitting under a Bodhi (banyan) tree in the place called Gaya; now the place is world renowned as Buddha Gaya and the tree and place are the most holy shrines for millions of Buddhists all over the world. At that night Mercury lord of 12th house ( Gemini, moksha-sthana) was in the constellation of Moon (lord of birth-lagna).
In the Nava-amsa chart the birth lagna was Pisces; Jupiter was its lord. Mercury was in 5th house (house of intelligence; Cancer) conjunct with exalted Jupiter (jnana-kaaraka). Under the strong directional influence (dik-bala) of Mercury and Jupiter , he preached his first Sermon. He preached the sweet and most reasonable “miidle-path”. It lies between sensual enjoyment and total mortification. 6) Venus is the lord of 11th (upachaya; Taurus) and the 4th house (Vidya sthana; Sri Narayana sthana; Libra) and is in 10th house (Karma sthana) and conjunct with Jupiter forming Sri Hari raja-yoga. Under his strong chesta-bala (functional strength), during the sub-period of Venus in the main period of Venus, Gauthama gained world-wide name and fame as Buddha (one who was blessed with supreme realization); he moved from place to place preaching his doctrines and organizing the expansion of his religious order and setting up of monasteries (religious centers) under the able supervision of his disciples “monks”. Thus for 20 years of Venus main period (glorious and very highly beneficial period), he successfully earned millions of followers and hundreds of dedicated disciples-monks all over India. Kings and emperors as well as common people were very highly impressed by his doctrines and took to Buddhism faith / religion. (to be continued tomorrow).
