The lords of main-periods, if they have no relation with malefic (paapa-graha) planets, malefics give malefic results during the sub-periods of beneficial planets. Beneficial (subha-grahams) planets have relation with the lords of the main periods, they give mixed results during their sub-periods. If the beneficial planets have no relation with the lords of main-periods give malefic results only.

In this chart, the benefic Venus is in Leo. Sun (malefic) is its lord. He is conjunct with malefic Ketu in 9th house (father). So the is person’s father died during her Venus main period during sub-period of Sun. Also she is not given any share in father’s inherited property. So Sun gave her malefic results during the main period of benefic Venus. She loved her father very much and was attached to him.
