BENEFITS OF KNOWING FUTURE EVENTS NOW

The best reason to know the future through astrology is to prepare well, in advance.  Forewarned really is forearmed. Just because you know there's the likelihood of rain ahead doesn't mean you have to get wet!  Instead, you can utilise the information, and pack raingear. That becomes possible once you're informed well in advance. Because you took the time to learn the forecast you're empowered to do something about it. Too often people hear that they're entering a so-called "malefic (harmful)" period (dasa) and then they freak out. They fill their minds with horrible imaginings instead of taking wisely the next step: get more information about what that dasa means and its effects; they use this information to their advantage to empower their lives and face the situation with suitable astrological remedies and guard themselves from possible mishaps.  

Once as I was analyzing a friend's (my class-mate in high school classes) chart during August, 1983. I noticed a planetary combination that was particularly dangerous for him in the near future.  I strongly recommended that he regularly recite the maha mrityunjaya mantra, the traditional mantra of protection, over the following weeks, for 1008 times daily. He was a civil engineer (Executive Engineer); he had respect for my astrological predictions.  About a month later as the man was doing a routine inspection in a construction site, a support beam suddenly gave way and the decking for R.C.C slab landed on top of him!  His co-workers were quite certain that he had been killed beneath that weight.  However, when they finally removed the material of decking, they found that he was not only alive, but that the only injury he sustained was a hairline fracture to his left fore-arm bone! It was a great miracle to all people present there. He is still alive and hale and healthy.
I strongly believe that certain events are fated in our life. However, I don't believe it's helpful to think in terms of fate, because it paralyzes our will-power to take positive action and improve our karma. For this reason, it's better to think of the chart as revealing trends and likelihoods, not inevitable events. The planetary positions reveal the trends and patterns that we ourselves have set in motion in the past.  I illustrate a true incident which actually happened during 1955.

Once an expert palmist-astrologer, Sri Vaidyanatha Iyer; (name changed) boarded a train at Chennai to go to Rameswaram, on pilgrimage along with his family. It was 1955.  It was raining very heavily; he started doing palmistry readings to co-passengers.  Finally he got down at the rail station at Tiruchirapalli and met the station master. He told him there is a definite chance of the train to meet a fatal accident soon.  He requested the station master to stop the train there for that night in that station and save the lives of hundreds of passengers.  He examined over 25 palms and found all of them may face death soon. The station master told he was helpless.  He can not stop he train based on his predictions or the heavy rain; if he does, he loses his job. The palmist-astrologer stayed back with his family; the train left. Soon the train was derailed on the Dhanushkodi bridge and many bogies plunged into sea-water below; hundreds of passengers lost their lives.  Two days later, Sri Lal Bahadur Sastry tendered his resignation as railways minister claiming moral responsibility for that accident; against the wishes of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru (the Prime Minister of India) then.   His (Vaidyanatha Iyer’s) profound knowledge of palmistry-astrology saved him and his family from that fatal accident.  The best way to prepare for the future is to stay present in the moment.
