 CHAPTER:  EIGHT. AAYUR BHAAVAM.

The 8^th house from Janma-lagnam (ASD=birth = 1st house) is called  AAYUR  BHAAVAM.  This house and the planets therein give us information about the person’s longevity, death, life-style, sorrows, sins, and hell.  This house is deemed to be one of the malefic houses.

 DWATHRIMSATH POORVAM ALPA-AAYUR, MADHYAMA-AAYU-STHITHA PARAM SAPTHATHYAA PARATHAM, POORNAM VADEDI ITHYAAHA KERALAHA.   =   If a person lives up to 32 years or less, he has low-longevity; if he lives more than 33 years and dies before 66 years, he has middle-longevity; if he lives more than 66 years, he has full-longevity.  The full / maximum longevity (aayu) of a human being is 120 years.  Thus predicts the Kerala Astrology.

2.    LAGNA-ESVARA, NAISARGIKA-RIPUTHA ALPA-AAYUSHYAMEA;  SATHRULVEPI, NISARGATHASCHA SUHRUDISYAADI MADHYA-AAYURAVAU;  LAGNA-ESA, ARKA, SUHRUTHVA VEERYEANA SATHO JAATHASYACHA AAYUR VADETH. =  If the lord of 1^st   house has positional enmity with Ravi(Sun), he has low longevity; if the lord of 1^st house has temporary enmity with Ravi or positional equality (neither enemy nor friend), the person has middle-longevity,  If Ravi and lord of 1^st house have positional friendship , he has good-longevity (about 85 years); if Ravi and lord of 1^st house are good friends, he has full-longevity.  So the longevity is to be determined based on the relative friendliness and relative strengths of Ravi (Sun) and the lord of the Janma-lagnam (1^st house).              Example : 1

Here, Sun is the lord of birth lagna (Leo).  So the lord of lagna and Sun are friends.  Sun is in 4^th house and is in 4^th house (Kendra; Sri Narayana sthanam). So he has full longevity.          

KROORA SHASHTA-GATHAA, THRUTHEEYA BHAVECHA, LAABHECHA YAA SAMSTHITHA;  DEERGHA-AAYU MANUNO VADHATH SATHATHAM JAATHASYA SOUKHA-ADHIKAM;  LAGNA-ESAE BALASAALINI GRUHAGEA KENDRA,  NA ADHAMAA SAMSTHITHE; POORNA-AAYUSHU, SU-GUNAADIKATHVAMAPICHA KHYATHIM VADEA  POOJYATHAAM.

If malefic planets stays in 3^rd, 6^th, or 11^th house, the person enjoys full-longevity and comfortable life;  if the lord of lagnam (1^st house) is strong and stays in a Kendram(1^st, 4^th, 7^th, 10^th) or has no relation with malefic planets, he has full longevity, good qualities and name.  Example :

Here, natural malefics are in 3^rd house (Saturn), in 6^th house (Rahu) and in 11^th house (exalted Mars).  Also the lord of lagnam (Pisces) is Jupiter. He is in 4^th house (Kendra; Sri Narayana sthana).
