CHAPTER: THREE. SODARA BHAAVAM.
The 3rd house from the Janma-lagnam (Birth house
= ASD) is called SODARA BHAAVAM The third house and the planets therein give
us information about the person’s brother, sister, courage, anger, calm nature,
peace, analyzing power, resourcefulness, friend, longevity (life-span).

If the lord of 3rd
house is in 6th, 8th, or 12th houses or
enemy’s house, or in debilitated house,
the person’s brothers die. If the lord
of 3rd house is in 11th house or malefic planets stay in
3rd house, he has no brothers or sisters. If the
3rd house, or the lord of 3rd house, Kuja (Mars) or the
lord of the house in which Kuja stays– these
four have relation with malefic (harmful) planets, he has no brothers. Example :-

In this chart malefic Saturn stays in 3rd
house. Kuja (Mars) is exalted in
Capricorn and malefic Saturn is its lord.
So he has no brothers or sisters. Example :-
