I publish the horoscope analysis of Bhagavan Adi Sankara in about 12 parts in a serial order. He is a great super-genius, the world ever had. He gave Hinduism a revival and introduced a catholic spirit in spreading the Hinduism and its greatness.
HOROSCOPE ANALYSIS OF BHAGAVAN ADI SANKARA ACHARYA OF KALADI
Part – 9 (Aug—29—2009)
9) The 8th house (Aquarius) is ayu-sthana. Its lord is Saturn; he is also ayu-kaaraka (significator of longevity). He is in the constellation of Venus. Venus (3*) was conjunct with Sun (8*), who is a maaraka as the lord of 2nd house (maaraka-sthana). This bestowed him alpa-ayu (low longevity).
10) In Nava amsa chart, Virgo is lagna; Venus is the lord of 2nd house (Libra); so here Venus is maaraka. Venus and Rahu (malefic) are in 8th house (Aries) and afflicted the 8th house (ayu-sthana) considerably. Ketu (malefic) was in 2nd house and afflicated the 2nd house, maarka-sthana. Added to these, the presence of lagna lord Moon (in Rasi chart) in 12th house (ripha) is detrimental to longevity and harmful. So Sankara lived only for 32 years. 11) In Rasi chart, the 9th house (Pisces) signifies father and his longevity. Jupiter is lord of 9th house. He stays n 8th house (Aquarius); it is the 12th house (ripha sthana) from the 9th house. Mars is a malefic and occupies the 9th house (Pisces). Sun is pithru-kaaraka (signficator of father); he suffers paapa-karthari yoga; Mars and Rahu are on either side of Sun. Besides Sun stays in the constellation of Ketu (malefic). All these malefic factors caused the death of his father when he is very young, only six years of age.
12) In Rasi chart, Moon is the lord of birth-lagna (cancer). She is Mathru-kaaraka (significator of mother) . Moon is in Gemini (a benefic house); Mercury is the lord of Gemini; he is also the lord of 4th house (Virgo) from Moon. Mercury is in Kendra (10th house; Sri Narayana sthana) from lagna. These factors reveal the greatest love and affection Sankara has to his mother. His conduct, even as a Sanyasi (paramahamsa order) performed the death ceremonies of his mother scrupulously despite social taboo and strong opposition from the Brahmin community in that village (Sankara was exterminated from Brahmin order) and driven out of the village. Yet this brings out in to lime-light the moral beauty and sublimity. These qualities are found in the noble duty of a man, having to honour the sacred memory of his mother. This duty he performed faithfully and put Sankara on the highest pedestal of honour and nobility. He is exemplary to every person on the immaculate love and affection for mother and performing all duties faithfully to his / her mother.
13) Sankara took Sanyasa deeksha (oath of ascetic life) during his 9th year. So he never married and never had family and family-life. In Rasi chart the 7th house (Kalathra-sthana; house of wife and family life) is Capricorn. Saturn is its lord . He is in 6th house (12th house (ripha-sthana) to 7th house). Venus is kalathra-kaaraka and he is in the constellation of Ketu and is strongly afflicted. Also Venus has paapa-karthari yoga; two malefics Mars and Rahu are on either side of Venus. Due to all these factors, Sankara never had a marriage, a wife or a family-life. 14) Jupiter is veerya-bestower. He is in 8th house (randhra-sthana). Venus is sambhoga-kaara (bestower of sex life); he is the constellation of Ketu (moksha-kaaraka; bestower of salvation). These indicate the sublimation of sex desire and spotless brahmacharya (celibacy) character of Sankara.
15) In Rasi chart, the 6th house is (Sagittarius) house of enemies, opposition, debts and diseases. Saturn occupies the 6th house; he is the lord of 7th and 8th houses. Jupiter is the lord of 6th house (Sagittarius) and occupies the 8th house (Aquarius). Thus there is a strong Parivarthana (exchange) yoga between the lord of two malefic houses 6th (sathru) and 8th (randhra). Both lords aspect the lagna lord Moon; Jupiter has 5th drushti and Saturn has 7th drushti on Moon. Moon (lagna-lord) is placed in the moksha-sthana (salvation house) the 12th house (ripha-sthana). Moon is also ruler of mind. All these factors denote the following unique capacity Sankara had. He readily understands the formidable nature of the opponents he had to face. He was able to vanquish them all by his calm judgment and clever argument. He has perfect familiarity with the traditional interpretation and exposition as well as his super mastery of the various types of philosophies and Vedas and Upanishads and scriptures.
