Analysis of the Horoscope of Sri TYAGARAJA SWAMI

Explanation of Special Features : (1) Cancer is birth lagna and Moon is in it (his own house). So it is also Rasi lagna. In Bhava chart Moon is in 12^th bhava; he was very short tempered during his younger age (they said). In Bhava chart, Moon is in vyaya sthana (12^th house) from birth lagana; also in Nava-amsa chart Moon and Saturn are conjunct in Kaaraka Amsa house (Virgo).

2) Sri Tyagayya was tall, lean with well proportioned limbs, a broad brow, a broad chest and a dignified appearance and awe-inspiring personality (as seen in paintings of that period). The birth lagna was cancer and Moon (its lord) was in it. Ketu in lagna was malefic. Saturn in Taurus aspected (10^th drushti) Aquarius (the Nava amasa Lagna house). Jupiter in Leo aspected (7^th drushti) Aquarius (the Nava amsa lagna house). All these factors influenced his appearance, physical features and personality. 2) Any person’s eyes are represented by Sun and Moon and can be predicted depending on their dispositions. In this horoscope, Sun is exalted on the 10^th house (Aries); Moon is in his own house (Cancer) in birth lagna. These factors indicate that his eyes were large and full of brightness and emanating a unique spiritual lustre.

3) All the nine planets are in lagna (1^st), 2^nd, 7^th, 10^th, 11^th and 12^th houses. The 6^th and 8^th house (two malefic houses) are not at all occupied. The 9^th house (Pisces) is Dharma-sthana and is owned by Jupiter. The 10^th house (Aries) is karama-sthana and has exalted Sun and beneficial Mercury forming strong Budha-Aditya yoga. Jupiter powerfully aspects (9^th drushti) the 10^th house (Aries) and Sun and Mercury in it. So the 10^th house has the beneficial rays of Jupiter and Mercury focused on it. All these factors indicate his life is simple and austere. He has insatiable in the praise of Bhagavan Sri Rama. He was totally indifferent to worldly affluence.
