Siva Yoga in astrology

Siva Yoga (Jan—3--2010)

Rule :— If the lord of the 5^th house is in the 9^th house, and the lord of the 9^th house is in the 10^th house and the lord of the 10^th house is in the 5^th house, Siva Yoga is formed.

Effects :—The person will be a flourishing trader. He may be a conqueror and commander of armies. Or He may possess divine wisdom and leads a virtuous life. Remarks.—The positions of planets seems to be simple but it is full of significance.

The 5^th house and 9^th house are power­ful trikonas (trines; Sri Maha Lakshmi sthanas). The 10^th house is a powerful Kendra (quadrant; Sri Narayana sthana).

Disposition of the lords of these three in a particular order as enunciated in this combination strengthens the houses of fortune (Bhagya) and actions / profession (Karma) so that the person is benefited in terms of fortune, trade / business , and posseses philosophical knowledge. He indulges in religious and auspicious activities.

In estimating the strength of this yoga, due consideration should be given to the mutual relations of the lords of the 9^th , 5^th and 10^thhouses.

For example, let us consider Mesha (Aries) as birth-lagna.

Siva Yoga can be caused by the presence of the lord of 5^th house, Leo, Sun stays in the 9^th house (Dhanasu) , and Saturn in the 10^th house (Capricorn, his own house) or in the 5^th house (Leo), Because of the ownership of the two adjoining houses (Capricorn and Aquarius) the 10^th (Karma)and 11^th (Profits; gains) by Saturn, the yoga is fortified.

If the Sun occupies the 9^th house (friend’s house), and Saturn in the 10^th house (own house), a stronger Siva yoga is formed than the Sun and Saturn exchanging their houses.

In the second case while Siva Yoga is caused by the Sun (lord of the 5^th) occupying the 10^th (a house of Saturn) and Saturn (lord of the 10^th ) occupying the 5^th owned by Sun (Sri Maha Lakshmi sthana). Both the planets Sun and Saturn are such bitter enemies that the combination, though on account of Parivarthana between the lords of 5^th and 10^th houses, Siva Yoga is generated; but the yoga is full of malefic effects (evil results).

In the example 3; Libra is birth-lagna; the 5^th house is Aquarius and its lord Saturn is in 9^th house (Gemini). Lord of 9^th house (Mercury) is in 10^th house (Cancer) and its lord is Moon. Saturn and Mercury are friends. Mercury is a friend of Moon. Also conjunction of Sun and Mercury in 10^th house forms a beneficial Budha-Aditya yoga causing huge gains in business.
