6) Venus :- Now I explain the effect of Sukra (Venus) in 10th house (it is Kendra; Sri Narayana sthana) = Lagnath dasame Bhrugy-phalam. It is a benefic house and signifies profession, job, power (rajya), karma (nature of deeds), earning livelihood, name and fame. Effects : Views of renowned astrologers : 1) Saint-Astrologer Maharshi Parasara (Great grand-father of Pandavas and Kauravas of Mahabharatha epic; father of Maharshi Veda Vyasa) wrote : (sloka = Sanskrit verse) :- DASAME SUKRESAKALA BANDHU-HITHAISHI, STHIRA, BHOGAVAAN, ADHIKA SUDARA VESHA,SUBHA -AKRUTHE, SUBHA, KEERTHI , UDAARA, DHEE = If Sukra (Venus) is in 10th house (Rajya), the person is very helful to the family members and close relatives. He is stable-minded; very rich and prosperous (multi-miilionaire) very handsome, hale and healthy, sturdy, noble natured, generous, and charitable. He is brave, courageous and takes firm decisions. He loves his brothers, parents, in-laws and their children and families and helps them in times of need.
2) Bhrigu Sutras- by saint-astrologer Maharishi Bhrigu (3500 BC):-- Suthra (59):- Bahu-prathaapavaan; Sukra papa-graha-yuthe vaa veekshthe, karami-vighna-kaar. Guru, Budha, Chandra-yuthe, aneka vaahana aarohana-vaan. Suthra (60):- Aneka krathu-siddhi. Suthra (61) :- Digantha-visrantha keerthihi; aneka raja-yogagaha; bahu-bhagyavaan; vachaalaha. If Venus is in the tenth house, the native will be full of glory. If Venus is associated with (or aspected by) a malefic, the native will have difficulties and obstacles in his undertakings. If Venus is associated with Mercury, Jupiter and Moon, the effects will be as under:- (a) The native will enjoy the comfort of many conveyances. (b) He will perform religious ceremonies of many kinds. (c) He will enjoy world wide reputation. (d) He will enjoy many Raja yogas (that is, he will be wealthy, honoured and famous). (e) He will be very fortunate and talkative.
My explanation:- According to above Sutras, Venus gives very beneficial results in the tenth house, in respect of the significations of this house unless afflicted. The results will be far more beneficial when Venus gets associated with any of the three benefics- Jupiter, Mercury and waxing and strong Moon. All the effects given are logical and relevant to the significations of the tenth house. For the Virgo ascendants, Venus will be in the 10th, as lord of the 2nd and 9th; for Capricorn ascendants, the 5th and 10th; and for Aquarius ascendants the 4th and 9th houses respectively. For the Cancer ascendant, Venus will be in the 10th house as lord of 4th and 11th houses. These dispositions give rise to very powerful Dhana yogas. When Venus is posited in the 10th house in his own sign (lord of 10th in 10th), a distinguished Raja yoga is formed which will confer great wealth, name and fame upon the native. Venus in the tenth house is in Kendra to the ascendant. The disposition of Venus there in his own sign or in his sign of exaltation will give rise to Malavya yoga (a Panch Mahapurusha yoga) will be formed, the effects of which have been given as under:-"The person will have a well developed physique, will be strong minded, wealthy, happy with children and wife, will command vehicles, endowed with clean sense organs and be renowned and learned."
Venus a benefic being in the 10th house to the ascendant also gives rise to the Amala yoga, the effects are : "The person will achieve lasting fame and reputation.
