Aum Namo Sri Sita Rama ! Jan—6—2010 is the Pushya Krishna Panchami thithi (Telugu Lunar Calendar). On this holy day the saint-musician-composer (Vak-geya-kaar) Sri Tyaga Brahma, attained salvation (Moksham) 157 years ago. On this holy occasion I shall analyse the horoscope of Sri Tyaga Brahma in 9 parts. I wish all lovers of astrology and music read these articles with reverence and happiness. Part – 6 (Jan—10—2010) Sunday

Important Events in the life of Sri Tyagayya : Let me explain some important events in his life based on his horoscope.

(1) Fever in childhood : Thyagayya suffered fever (serious illness) when he was five years old. This happened during the main period of Saturn and sub-period of Sun, Sun was the lord of 2^nd house Leo; which was a maraca-sthana. Sun was also a planet of vitality and benefactor of good health. He was afflicted in the Navam-amasa also; Sun was in 2^nd house from Saturn. Saturn was the lord of 7^th (maraca sthana; Capricorn) and also of 8^th lord (aayu-sthana). He aspected (3^rd drushti; malefic) the Moon and the birth-lagna. In Nava-amsa. Saturn was in 2^nd house from Moon (Chandra-lagna). All these factors caused his illness. His parents were worried. At the a holy man visited their house; he applied vibhoody (holy ash) on the forehead of the boy; he assured the parents not to worry; the boy would recover soon, since the boy was destined to shed lustre on the south India (Karnatic music) when he grows to be a youth. His prophecy went true and soon the boy recovered from his fever. 2) Marriage :- His marriage was performed during the main period of Mercury and sub-period of Venus, at his 18^th year. Mercury, the major lord was in 10^th house (Sri Narayana sthana) conjunct with Sun (lord of 2^nd house; family house) causing a powerful raja yoga, Budha-Aditya yoga. Mercury occupies the nakshathra (star) of Ketu. Ketu aspects the 7^th house (Vivaha, kalathra; house of marriage and wife). The sub-lord is Venus; he is kalathra, vivaha karaka (significator of wife and marriage); he is conjunct with Saturn (lord of 7^th house). All these factors indicate his marriage at the age of 18 years. 3) Musician :- Venus is the significator of fine-arts like music and dance. Saturn is well-disposed; he is the lord of 7^th house (Sri Narayana sthana); he is in 11^th house (laabha- gains) and was conjunct with benefic Venus. Venus is very strong and beneficial and is in his own house (Taurus). Saturn’s period and Venus sub-period was very beneficial; it was a formative period in developing his talents in music. During this period he underwent the rigorous training needed to master the technical aspects of learning Karnatic music. He worked hard and gained perfection in these techniques to shape him into an expert. 4) Death of his first wife: Kuja was in 12^th house (vyaya) and formed a strong Kuja-dosha.
