30) ITHAREASHAAM DASAANAADHA VIRUDHA PHALA DAAYINAAM,
THATHATH PHALAANU GUNYEANA PHALAA NYUHAANI BHIKTHISHUHU.
In case of planets which give results opposite those of the lord of the main-period, those planets give results good or bad within their sub-periods (bhukthis) depending on the relative—strengths of those planets and the lord of the main-period. The bukthi-planet is stronger, then the results will be more of the nature of the bhukthi-lord and if the lord of main period is stronger, then the results will be more of the nature of the main lord. But the results will be better or worse depending on the relative strengths of the planets which are lord of main period and the lord of the sub-period. Illustration:

In this chart Jupiter is lord of birth lagna and is in 4th house (Kendra; Sri Narayana sthana) and has Gaja-kesari yoga. So Jupiter period is 81% beneficial to him Ketu is in 12th house (Vyaya; loss and expenses). So this person retired from his job on completion of 60 years of age; that is, he lost his job during the sub-period of Ketu during the main period of Jupiter. He also left his own home and his native place and migrated to USA to stay with his children; that is, Ketu caused his banishment. So the results are malefic; they are welcome to the person. He was waiting and keenly desiring to spend his old age with his children, who settled (citizen of USA) in USA.
