 THRUTHEEYA, SHASTAMA, LAABHA, RIPHA NAATHASYA CHEDYOGA KARA ANUBANDHANAM;  THATHAAYA KAALEPICHA YOGA BHUKTHAU SUBHA ANVAYEA THASYA SOUKHYAMAAHU.

The lords of 3, 6, 8, 12 houses are malefic planets.  If they have association with a beneficial planet, the person gets beneficial results during the main period of the malefic planets within the sub-period of the beneficial planet.  If the causing-planet (kaaraka-graham) is together with a beneficial planet, then good results come during the main period of the causing planet within the sub-period of the beneficial planet.        Example : 

Ketu Aries   -6- Moon Gul RASI Jupiter   -2- Saturn Lagna  -12- Mars Venus Sun Mercury Rahu

In this natal chart, malefic Mars is 12^th house(malefic; Scorpio) lord. He is in benefic 11^th house (Laabham; gains) and is conjunct with benefic Venus.  So she gets benefic results in the main period of Mars and sub period of Venus.
