RAJA YOGAS IN VEDIC ASTROLOGY. PARIJATHA YOGA Part—64 (Mar—5--2009)
Rule :- The lord of the house occupied by the Ascendant lord, and the Ascendant lord or the lord of Navamsa occupied by the lord of the Rasi in which the Ascendant lord is posited, shall join a quadrant, a trine or his own or exaltation places. Results:— The person will be happy in the middle and last parts of life. He receives the homage of Kings and Rulers. He is fond of wars. He possesses elephants and horses, (cars)/ He conforms to the traditions and customs of his family and relgionn. He is generous and famous. My remarks—Parijatha Yoga is a powerful Raja Yoga. Ifs Parivraja (Sanyasa; ascetic Yoga) is also present in addition to Parijatha, the person becomes a religious head. He commands all the King's (ruler’s) paraphernalia and holds spiritual authority over millions of people. Example : 1 :--

This is the horoscope of Bhagavan Gautama Buddha. The birth lagna is cancer; its lord is Moon. Moon is in 4th house Libra (Kendra) from birth-lagna. The lord of Libra (Indu-lagna) is Venus. Venus is in 7th house from Moon (Kendra). This is Parijatha yoga.
Buddha had Parivrajaka yoga (Ascetic): Ekaraasi sthithaithu chathradhibhi birbalyuthair jahaah, pruthaghviryagauh shakya ajeevika bhikshu vurdha chakra nirgandha vanaysanaha; mahye jnaya guru kshapakara sita prabhankareenau kramaath balibhi samah; parijithai sthastha swamibhihi prachyuthaihi= When there are four or more planets in one house, the person born may become an ascetic (sanyasi) of one of these types; Sakya, Aajivaka, Bhikshu, Vridha, Chakra, Nigandha or Vanayasana, when Mahaya, Gnya, Guru, Kshapakara, Sita, Prabandhakari, or Ina are powerful respectively. The parivrajaka yogas are determined by the most powerful planets. When these planets have suffered a defeat, the person will renounce the Parivraja (ascetic life) afterwards.
Bhagavan Buddha also has strong Parivraja (Ascetic yoga). Karma-sthanethu,chathvaro graha sthishtanthi che thathaa Parvrajaka yoga praapthi; ithi nischayaah (Jataka Marthandam) = If 4 or more planets occupy the 10th house (Karma sthana; profession) the person becomes an Ascetic.
Gautama Buddha had five planets in Karma-sthana (10th house; Rajya-sthana). Saturn was debilitated and stayed in 10th house; also Sani, the lord of 7th house for familiy life (Makara) was aspecting Moon. So he renounced his family life and took Sanyasa-deeksha (oath of asceticism). The powerful Kuja (Mars) in his own house (Mesha) with Saturn in 10th house caused Buddha to become a Sakya sanyasi, who wore saffron (red hue) coloured robes. Many rulers and millions of people adored him as Supreme God and accepted his preachings and became his disciples. Example : 2 :-- This is the horoscope of a upper-mddile class person with own houses and house-sites a job as a computer software engineer.

This chart has Parijatha yoga. The birth lagna is Gemini. It lord is Mercury; he is exalted and is in his own house (own house and moola-trikona also) in Virgo. So both lord of lagna and the house the lord of lagna occupies are same (Virgo). This is a strong Parijatha yoga. He enjoys the benefitis of this yoga fully.

The birth-lagna(Virgo) lord is Venus. Venus is in lagna (Kendra and kona) in his own house (also moola-trikona) Virgo. So Ranganath has strong Parijatha yoga and enjoys all the above said benefits in his future life.

Example :--4 This is the natal chart of a famous Guru teacher of national reputation. He was one of the most learned scholars of his time (1885—1950). He was a highly advanced Yogee and erudite scholar in Hindu Vedas and upanishads.

He was the relgious head of millions of Hindus, Guru Sankara Acharya. Several kings (Rajahs and Maharajahs) of his time used to prostrate before his feet. He was the head of a Sankara Peetha (Matt) = Hindu monastery. Though his power and authority were purely religious; he enjoyed all the previleges and paraphernalia of a great ruler (King).
