RAJA YOGAS IN VEDIC ASTROLOGY. Part—71 (Mar—11--2009)
Devendra Yoga
Rule : The conditions to form this yoga are: 1) the Lagna must always be a fixed sign, that is, Taurus, Leo, Scorpio or Aquarius.
2) the lagna-lord should be in 11th house (laabha), while the 11th house lord must be in birth-lagna, that is they exchange their houses.
3) the lords of 2nd and 10th houses should exchange their houses.
Two Parivarthana Yogas are therefore implied in this yoga. It must be observed that mere exchange of houses is not enough to produce this Yoga. The lords of these house must be really powerful. Effect :-- Devendra is deemed to be the king of heaven and all celestial deities in Hindu mythology. This Yoga is named after him is expected to usher into this world a man of good character, ruler or an equal to him. The person is a successful commander and a powerful monarch. Though all these results may not appear, at least some of them must be present. Example : 1

In this chart Taurus is birth lagna (a fixed sign). Venus its lord in in 11th house (Pisces). The lord of 11th house Jupiter is in birth lagna. The lord of 2nd house (Gemini) is Mercury ; he is in 10th house (Aquarius) forming strong Budha-Aditya yoga. The lord of 10th house is Saturn and he is in 2nd house. He was the founder and President of a political party and he worked as Chief Minister for one term. He had good reputation. Example : 2

The lagna (Scorpio) is a fixed sign and its lord Mars is in 11th house (Virgo). The lord pf Virgo is Mercury and he is in birth-lagna. The lord of 2nd House (Sagittatius) is Jupiter and he is in 10th house (Leo); its lord Sun is in 2nd house. So this person has srong Devendra yoga and enjoys all its good effects.
